Sovereign AI Governance
for Life Sciences
Support GDPR compliance and data sovereignty for your AI initiatives. Protect sensitive genomic and bioinformatics data with our patent-pending infrastructure.
Genomics & Bioinformatics AI Governance
Safeguard sensitive research data while maintaining regulatory compliance. Our solutions are designed for the unique challenges of life sciences AI.
GDPR-Aligned AI Workflows
Design AI workflows around stringent GDPR requirements, including the special-category rules for genetic and health data. Protect patient data and support ethical AI use across the genomics research pipeline.
Built for Research Infrastructures
Developed under a formal research agreement with a European genomics research institute, and designed around how research infrastructures share and govern sensitive data across institutions and borders.
GA4GH WES-Compatible Dispatcher
Our WES-compatible API genuinely dispatches submitted workflows through ARIA Capsule's real Tier 1–4 execution pipeline — signed, isolated, and attested, not a simulated queue. Submit real CWL documents (single-step or multi-step pipelines) for native translation into signed, attested capsules, or bring your own container image for WDL/Nextflow interoperability with global genomics initiatives, without sacrificing sovereignty.
A Practical Framework for AI Data Ownership
Implement a robust data governance framework tailored for AI systems operating over sensitive datasets. Our solutions balance regulatory compliance with operational efficiency.
-
Three-Tier Ownership Model
Our Owner / Steward / Custodian framework ensures clear accountability and enforceable control at every layer of your data stack.
-
EU AI Act Readiness
Designed with the EU AI Act requirements in mind, so your governance posture supports current GDPR obligations and prepares for future regulatory obligations.
The ARIA Capsule Architecture
Our sovereign AI governance infrastructure is built on a layered security model. Each tier provides enhanced assurance guarantees, composable with your existing stack.
HMAC + Docker Isolation
Utilises HMAC for cryptographic data integrity verification and Docker for secure container isolation, establishing a tamper-evident, reproducible AI execution environment. Every audit log entry is chained by SHA-256 hash to the one before it, with periodic checkpoints anchored to an independent store, so a retroactive edit, a deleted entry, or even a full table reset is independently detectable, not just logged. Key management runs on a real HashiCorp Vault backend (Raft storage, AppRole-scoped access, audit logging) with a production-hardening proof-of-concept validated — not yet a fully production-hardened deployment.
● OperationalLaplace Differential Privacy ε=1.0
Implements ε-differential privacy with ε=1.0 using the Laplace mechanism, providing mathematically provable privacy guarantees while preserving statistical utility for AI workloads.
● OperationalEd25519 Hardware Attestation
Employs Ed25519 elliptic-curve signatures for cryptographic node attestation, ensuring the provenance and integrity of every computation in the ARIA infrastructure. A live pre-transmit attestation handshake verifies node integrity immediately before any data leaves its source jurisdiction — proven end-to-end in software (Tier 3), not yet validated against live Tier 4 hardware.
● OperationalHardware Trusted Execution Environment
Real hardware validation across confidential-computing silicon on GCP and Azure, including a dedicated, persistent pilot node executing real capsules against public genomics data. Most recently validated end-to-end across multiple physical machines — a capsule dispatched over a real network, executed under hardware attestation, and independently re-verified against AMD's own certificate chain by a third, separate machine — not yet part of any live partner deployment.
- AMD SEV-SNP — quote generation and full certificate-chain verification against AMD's live KDS, both confirmed working. ● Hardware-Validated
- Intel TDX — quote generation via the in-kernel configfs-tsm interface and full DCAP chain verification against Intel's live PCS, both confirmed working (SGX_QL_QV_RESULT_OK). ● Hardware-Validated
- Intel SGX — quote generation, report-data/MRENCLAVE binding, and full certificate-chain verification all confirmed on real Azure SGX hardware, hardened with a fail-closed fallback across collateral versions. Long-term stability across Azure's future collateral rotation is not yet proven. ● Hardware-Validated (hardened)
- Arm CCA — structural placeholder in the codebase only; not yet tested against real hardware. ● Not Implemented
The ARIA Platform
Three complementary offerings covering infrastructure, orchestration, and advisory services.
ARIA Capsule
Our patent-pending sovereign capsule is designed for secure, compliant AI operations across sensitive data environments. Available in three operational tiers (T1–T3) with a hardware-validated Tier 4 TEE path (AMD SEV-SNP, Intel TDX, and hardened Intel SGX) now running on a pilot node, ahead of partner/production rollout, deployable on-premises or within your regulated cloud.
EnquireARIA Mesh
Orchestrate distributed AI workloads across multiple sovereign nodes with our swarm infrastructure. Designed for scalability, resilience, and efficient resource management across institutional and cross-border deployments.
EnquireARIA Praxis
30-day Sovereign AI Governance Assessment at a fixed price. Our structured advisory delivers a comprehensive compliance gap analysis, data ownership framework design, and a prioritised remediation roadmap aligned with GDPR, EU AI Act, and sector-specific obligations.
EnquireSovereign Governance Systems Ltd
SGS is a UK-registered company specialising in sovereign AI governance infrastructure for life sciences and regulated industries. Our work is grounded in applied bioinformatics, institutional data governance experience, and a formal research collaboration with a European genomics research institute.
SGS was founded by Dr Triantafyllos Paparountas, who previously built and managed the AI core service facility at Karolinska Institutet.
ARIA is built by practitioners who understand the operational realities of genomic data stewardship — not by compliance consultants retrofitting generic frameworks.
